International Day Against LGBTIphobia

Today, May 17th, is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. A day to say enough to the violence, hate, and discrimination that many LGBTI+ people still face around the world.

At AHEAD, we want to shout out to society and express our commitment to this fight. We cannot continue to allow hate and intolerance to rule our lives. Diversity is strength, and it is time to confront prejudice and intolerance.

How can you fight against LGBTIphobia?

  • Educate yourself and others: Learn about the realities and struggles of the LGBTI+ community. Share information and dispel the myths that perpetuate hate.
  • Actively support: Don't be complicit with your silence. Support LGBTI+ individuals and speak out against any form of discrimination.
  • Take action: Report acts of LGBTIphobia, both online and in person. Don’t let intolerant comments or attitudes slide.
  • Get involved: Participate in actions, protests, and events that promote LGBTI rights. The fight belongs to all of us.

We cannot expect a better world if we don't act now. Indifference is also complicit in discrimination.

For a future without LGBTIphobia. We do not tolerate hate.
