Petit Compass. Manual on Human Rights Education for Children is a Human Rights Education manual to be used, worked and lived with groups of children and youth. This is the translation and adaptation of the manual of Human Rights Education of the Council of Europe, Compasito, which educators in Europe have been using successfully for the past years. Such success is based experiential and participatory methodologies as the basis for the learning experience.
The translation into Catalan is the first adaptation of the manual to a minorized language - not to be confused with minority language -. With this action, AHEAD expects to contribute to spreading Human Rights Education among the community of Catalan speakers, which is present in four countries member of the Council of Europe.

PETIT COMPASS aims to help children to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to participate in society. Thus, children can contribute to building a culture of human rights.
WHO IS PETIT COMPASS FOR?
For educators
PETIT COMPASS is a starting point for educators (teachers, school and leisure time center staff, youth leaders, etc.) who are willing to implement Human Rights Education with children from 7 to 13 years. PETIT COMPASS encourages educators to adapt the material in order to reflect their reality and their children. Thus, the manual may also be used with children of other age range. Although the practical activities are designed as children's games, most activities require appropriate facilitation by an expert in education.
However if you are interested to directly access activities for older ages, you can refer to COMPASS: MANUAL ON HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION WITH YOUNG PEOPLE.
For children (3-7 years)
In PETIT COMPASS children are considered as young citizens of today, as well as right-holders with competences in many issues related to their lives. This is why PETIT COMPASS aims at them ultimately, and it is based on children’s motivations and experiences, while seeks for their own solutions.
