The five-days long Capacity Building event was implemented from Monday, the 27th May till Friday, the 31st May 2024 at the Espai Jove in Escaldes.
After several months of preparation, a specific Capacity Building training course was organised specially targeting the youth work professionals working with children 12 to 18 years old.
Besides the youth work professionals, also representatives from youth organisations and organisations working with children took place in the 5 days long training course
It included a session involving the youth workers providing the youth services, the representatives of the youth organisations, and decision-makers, political representatives from these seven municipalities.
The Capacity building was titled “La teva participació importa!” - “Your participation does matter”, that is a clear indication of the focus on the right of participation that we wanted to ensure along the whole process.
The Capacity Building was also the opportunity to give visibility to the results of the research that had been conducted the previous months in the frames of the project. By prioritising children's voices and experiences and facilitating their involvement in decision-making processes, the project aimed not only to support children overcome the different impacts of the pandemic, but also to support their active role as political subjects and bolster up children’s rights, when children’s participation in decision-making processes has been severely limited.
The CL.A.P. Project – Children’s rights Awareness and Participation addressing emerging needs in Covid-19 pandemic is a project which main objective is to contribute to the fulfilment and the spreading of awareness of children's rights across Europe through actions that not only align with but also actively promote the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child.
